Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt have drawn a line under their Barbenheimer experiences by performing a duet of Taylor Swift’s ‘All Too Well’ on Saturday Night Live.
Gosling, who played Ken in Barbie, was hosting the episode of SNL, and was joined in the opening monologue by Blunt, who played Kitty in Oppenheimer.
The two, who are also co-starring in the new action comedy The Fall Guy, reflected on the difficulty in moving past such a huge phenomenon. “You know, when you play a character that hard, that long, just letting go feels like a breakup and for processing a breakup, there’s really only one thing that can help – the music of the great Taylor Swift,” said Gosling.
With that, they launched into their adapted version of ‘All Too Well’, complete with choreographed backing dancers and scenery referencing both films.
“I was just Ken, and now I’m just Ryan,” sang Gosling, with Blunt adding: “I used to be the alcoholic wife of a dude in a hat / Talking to Albert Einstein / Sipping a margarita / With some Christopher Nolan and a bag of vodkila”.

Gosling ended weeks of uncertainty by showing up at the Oscars last month and performing a showstopping version of ‘I’m Just Ken’, alongside Mark Ronson and Slash.
Since then, Ronson has reflected on the legacy of the song, which he co-wrote and produced. “I know I’ll sound like David Brent, but the song helped young boys,” he said.
“My friend’s eight-year-old got broken up with and he said, ‘It’s OK, because Ken got broken up with by Barbie.’ The song tells boys that it’s OK to be runner-up,” he added.
“The internet’s caused a level of isolation in boys and this idea of male camaraderie and sharing your feelings is a nice and unexpected thing to come out of it.”
Blunt, meanwhile, revealed earlier this year that her Oppenheimer co-star Cillian Murphy was forced to have his head “glued shut” after an accident involving a pillow that she had given him.
“He was really luxuriating in this pillow one night, and he woke up in the middle of the night – this is what he told me the next day – and he went to fluff himself back down in the pillow, misjudged where it was, the cool side, flipped it, and smashed his head open on the bedside table,” she said. “So he came to work, and they had to glue his head shut!”
Oppenheimer was the biggest winner at this year’s BAFTAs, winning a total of seven, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for Murphy. It also proved successful at this year’s Oscars, taking home seven prizes, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
