Police give update on death of ‘1923’ actor Cole Brings Plenty

The actor's death was confirmed on April 5

Police have found that the recent death of actor Cole Brings Plenty was not the result of “foul play”.

The actor, best known for starring in the Paramount+ series 1923, a spin-off prequel to Yellowstone, was last seen on March 31. After he failed to attend an audition, concerns over his whereabouts were raised, and he was reported missing on April 2.

His body was found in a woodland area about 43 miles southwest of Kansas City on April 5, and his death was confirmed in a statement written by his father Joe Brings Plenty, which Cole’s uncle, Mo Brings Plenty, shared on his behalf.

The statement, posted by Cole’s uncle, who was also an actor known for acting in Yellowstone, read: “I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole.

He continued: “We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search areas. I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him.”

“During this incredibly difficult time, we ask for privacy as we process our grief and figure out how we move forward,” he added. “Please know we appreciate you and appreciate your understanding.”

There has been a subsequent investigation into the actor’s death, and the police released a statement yesterday (April 10) publishing their findings.

The statement read: “Detectives, crime scene investigators, and the Medical Examiner’s Office have been working diligently with the Lawrence Police Department and the Brings Plenty family.

“There is no indication of foul play in the death of Cole Brings Plenty.”

Prior to the disappearance of the actor, who also starred in The Tall Tales Of Jim Bridger and Into The Wild Frontier, an arrest warrant was issued for him. This followed an incident in which police were called to an address in Lawrence, Kansas, where a woman was reportedly screaming for help.

According to UniLad, Cole had been charged with aggravated burglary, domestic battery and criminal restraint.
