Watch Kanye West debut new song ‘Water’ at Coachella Sunday Service

The rapper aired the new track between a series of covers and reworked versions of his own tracks

Kanye West debuted a new song during his Sunday Service live session at Coachella 2019.

The rapper was joined by a gospel choir, live band, and several special guests as he brought the series to the Californian festival today (April 21).

After the session had already been running for nearly two hours, West took to the mic to first rap a version of ‘All Falls Down’, before announcing the first performance of a new track. “It’s called ‘Water’,” he told the audience.

Elsewhere in the set, Teyana Taylor and Chance The Rapper also performed, while DMX delivered a prayer towards the end of the session.

West began the Sunday Service events earlier this year, with a gospel choir performing new renditions of his songs. Ye has been live-streaming the events on Instagram and has also debuted new material that could feature on his next release.

Last week (April 17), French Montana told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe that West was working on something “bigger than music”. He added that the mysterious project was “something that’s so crazy” and suggested West’s music was heading in a more spiritual direction.

“I just see that [Kanye is] trying to do something that’s going to change the world,” Montana said. “Whether it’s something to help the people or something like … I feel like he’s going to touch something that’s going to change everybody’s life.”
