Watch Katy Perry make surprise appearance on final day of Coachella 2019

The first weekend came to a close with an unannounced cameo from the pop star

Katy Perry made a surprise appearance at Coachella 2019 earlier today (April 14).

The pop star had been spotted hanging out at the festival earlier in the weekend, but was not scheduled to perform her own set.

However, she made a cameo during Zedd’s set on Sunday to perform the pair’s new collaboration, ‘365’. The DJ and producer was performing on the main stage when Perry joined him to sing the track.

In the middle of the song, she told the crowd: “I used to sneak in here.” Later, she added: “I’ve been doing Coachella for about 17 years. Let me see you move. Will you move for me cos I’m a fan for you?” You can watch footage of the moment below.

The first weekend of Coachella 2019 is set to come to an end later tonight with a headline set from Ariana Grande. Childish Gambino and Tame Impala headlined the first two days of the festival.

The Californian event will return next weekend with the same line-up. A curated live stream will be available to watch on YouTube, including mini-documentaries, encore and live performances, and Kanye West’s Sunday Service live session.

Meanwhile, Perry and Zedd’s single was unveiled earlier this year. Speaking about working with the pop star, Zedd said: “Katy and I have known each other for a while now and while on tour together in Australia last summer, we started working on some music. After we got off tour and with our musical value systems even more aligned we continued working together and that’s when ‘365’ started to take shape. As it all came together, we knew we had something special. I love how Katy sounds on this record.”
