It looks like Brian Johnson will tour again with AC/DC, according to a source close to the band.
Last year, it was reported that the rock icons were working on a new album that would feature the work of their late rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young on “every track.” Then, earlier this year, American band Terrorizer confirmed that after bumping into Johnson at an airport, he told them that he would feature on the new album and that he was “sick of denying it.”
Johnson meanwhile was forced to quit AC/DC in 2016 after suffering hearing loss and was replaced on the band’s tour by Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose. But according to radio DJ Eddie Trunk, Johnson will rejoin the legendary band to tour the upcoming album.
“I have sources that have told me that they are absolutely going to tour with Brian back again,” Trunk admitted. “That’s all unconfirmed from their camp, but I had it from some reliable sources.”
He continued: “I think it’s pretty much a done deal that AC/DC, at the very least, are going to release some sort of record and it’ll be some sort of tribute to Malcolm [Young] just like ‘Back in Black’ was a tribute to Bon [Scott]. So I have no doubt about that and I’m pretty confident they’re probably going to do shows as well but I think at this point it’s pretty much just when they announce it.”

Since being forced to step down from AC/DC, Johnson has made a few brief appearances onstage with that band, giving fans hope that he might one day be back on the road with AC/DC brothers. The singer has also joined Robert Plant and Paul Rodgers onstage, jammed with Mick Fleetwood in Hawaii, and he even performed ‘Back in Black’ with Muse.
Speaking last year, a source close to the band said: “Turns out, five years prior to the ‘Black Ice’ LP, AC/DC’s 15th studio release, Angus and Malcolm Young lived to together [sic] where they literally wrote hundreds of songs, many were recorded and have been stashed away until now.
AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd was ousted from the group in 2015 following his conviction last year for drug possession and making threats to kill a former employee.
