Emma Bunton denies Spice Girls might axe tour following Geri Horner and Mel B feud rumours

The 'Spice World' tour is due to kick off next month in Dublin

Emma Bunton has quashed rumours claiming that the Spice Girls‘ upcoming comeback tour is set to be cancelled due to a reported feud between Geri Horner and Mel B.

The group, minus Victoria Beckham, are due to begin the ‘Spice World’ tour in Dublin, Ireland on May 24 with a show at Croke Park. They’re slated to perform in such cities as Manchester, Coventry and Bristol on the tour, before concluding with three shows at London’s Wembley Stadium from June 13-15.

However, there has been speculation recently that the tour won’t go ahead due to an apparent feud between members Geri and Mel. The disagreement started after the latter reportedly claimed during a recording on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories last month that she and Geri slept together a number of years ago. Geri denied the claims in a statement, calling Mel’s claims “simply not true” and “hurtful”.

Bunton has now moved to assure fans that the speculation and rumours haven’t affected the group’s plans to tour, however. “Of course it’s happening, we are starting rehearsals on Monday!” the singer told The Jonathan Ross Show this week in an episode which is due to air on ITV tomorrow (April 13).

“We have all chatted about it,” she added. “Listen, we had fun back in the day. I didn’t know anything else but you know, we are all good, we’re starting Monday, we can’t wait, we’ve all been chatting, it’s all good.”

Earlier this week, Bunton revealed in another interview that the Spice Girls plan to change the lyrics to their song ‘2 Become 1’ for their live tour in order to make it more LGBTQI-friendly.
