You can now watch Nick Cave & the Bad Seed’s incredible ‘Distant Sky’ concert film for free

Fans of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds can rewatch a special filmed performance from the band’s 2017 world tour that was originally screened for one night only in 2018.

Distant Sky – Live In Copenhagen, directed by award-winning filmmaker David Barnard, was captured at Denmark’s Royal Arena in October 2017. It was screened in cinemas worldwide a year later.

Now, fans can visit Cave’s official website and sign up to access the film, which will be available to stream online from April 19 to 11.59pm PDT on April 22 (7.59am BST on April 23).

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

A press release describes the performance as “extraordinary and triumphant” which “provoked an ecstatic response in fans, critics and band alike, renewing profound and intimate relationships wherever they played.”

Cave and co. perform songs from their latest album ‘Skeleton Tree’ (2016) as well as tracks from their back catalogue in the concert film. The touring line-up consists of: Nick Cave (vocals, piano); Warren Ellis (piano, keyboards, violin, tenor guitar); Martyn Casey (bass); Thomas Wydler (drums); Jim Sclavunos (vibraphone, percussion, piano); George Vjestica (guitar), and Larry Mullins (keyboards, piano).

In other Nick Cave news, the Australian musician has revealed that is almost complete on his “amazing” new Bad Seeds album.
