The pop star has given fans an update on her second album

Dua Lipa has been in the studio with Nile Rodgers as she continues to work on her second album.

Earlier today (April 4), the pop star shared an update on the follow-up to her self-titled 2017 debut album with fans, through Twitter.

“I want to keep you all in and part of the process so, as I’m slowly going on and starting to finish songs for my next album, yesterday was truly one for the books,” she wrote in a message to her followers.

She continued to explain that her new record would be different from her first after touring “such a predominately electronic album” had made her realise her new material “needed a lot more live instrumentation.” “This album I’m doing exactly that,” she said. “I was in the studio last night with the legend @nilerodgers and I was on the brink of tears as I saw more life being brought into these records!

“Every day we’re getting a little bit closer… I am so excited for you to hear this.” Lipa also shared some photos of her and Rodgers at work together in the post.

Earlier this week it was reported that the singer would shoot the video for her heavily-rumoured James Bond theme song this summer. Lipa has yet to be officially confirmed to be doing the Bond 25 theme tune, with the star herself responding to rumours last year by saying: “I would love to do it, but I’m not recording it… so far.”

Lipa recently spoke out about the struggles female artists face breaking through in the music industry. “As women, we have to work harder to be heard and appreciated,” she said.
