The Cure have confirmed that they will be performing at tonight’s (March 29) Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2019 induction.
Due to be inducted into the Hall alongside Radiohead, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Roxy Music, Def Leppard, and the Zombies, the Crawly band will be introduced by Nine Inch Nails‘ Trent Reznor.

Not only confirming their attendance at the ceremony being held at the Barclays Center, New York, The Cure also announced on Twitter that they will be playing “a handful of songs.”

Aside from The Cure, it was also announced yesterday (March 28) that Bryan Ferry will be present when he reunites with some of his Roxy Music bandmates for the group’s first performance in eight years.
Ferry will join multi-instrumentalist Andy Mackay and guitarist Phil Manzanera for a special performance. Due to other commitments, other Roxy Music members Paul Thompson and Brian Eno will not attend.

After some months of doubt, members of Radiohead have reportedly been confirmed to attend the ceremony also.
While frontman Thom Yorke said that he wouldn’t be able to attend this year due to a show in Paris nine days later and guitarist Ed O’Brien previously said that the band wouldn’t show up in the past because they “didn’t understand” what the Hall was for, now Clevaland.com report that The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation in New York has confirmed that “every artist being inducted, except for a few members of Radiohead, will be on hand” at the event.
In other news, Robert Smith has confirmed that The Cure have finished recording their new album.
The record, which is as-yet-untitled and has no release date, will be the band’s first studio release in over 10 years and their 14th studio album.
