Foals announce support act for summer UK and European tour

The 'Exits' band are heading out on the road in May

Foals will be supported by YAK on their UK and European tour this summer, it has been confirmed.

Yannis Philippakis and co. released their fifth LP, ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1‘, earlier this month (March 8). The new record, which narrowly missed out on the Number 1 spot in the Albums Chart, will be followed by Part 2 of the project later this year.

Now, with the Oxford outfit set to hit the road in support of the album, it has been announced that Wolverhampton indie trio YAK will join them at shows across May and June.

The group – comprised of Oliver Henry Burslem, Vincent Davies, and Elliot Rawson – will be opening up at Foals’ two London dates at Alexandra Palace after performing across the UK at venues in Manchester, Tunbridge Wells, Birmingham, and Glasgow.

YAK released their second album ‘Pursuit of Momentary Happiness’ last month. In a four-star review of the LP, NME  described the LP as “excessive”. “Somehow though, in Yak’s case they just about get away with it. Excess, after all, is how this record was created in the first place.”

Meanwhile, Foals recently announced two intimate UK shows which will bookend their larger-scale performances this summer. The band will play ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1‘ in its entirety at O2 Academy Leeds and Pryzm in Kingston. Both dates have sold out.
