Watch Nicki Minaj honour the Manchester bombing attack victims during her show

The rapper performed at the Manchester Arena last night (March 18)

Nicki Minaj paid tribute to the victims of the 2017 Manchester bombing attack while performing in the city this week.

The rapper brought her ‘Nicki Wrld Tour’ to the Manchester Arena last night (March 18). It is the same venue Ariana Grande was performing at on May 22, 2017, when a bomb killed 22 people and injured more than 800 others as they were leaving the concert.

During Minaj’s set, she took a moment to address the audience and remember those who were killed in the attack. “Put your light in the sky to remember everybody we lost,” she said. “God bless the families of everyone who survived and God bless Manchester for being resilient and not bowing down to fear. For being strong no matter what.”

Fans responded by cheering and raising their lit-up phones. You can watch footage of the moment below.

The Manchester show was the last of Minaj’s UK dates. The tour will now continue on to Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, the rapper’s current tour has faced a number of issues. Last week (March 15), she cancelled her show in Dublin after “adverse weather conditions” prevented her equipment from arriving in time.

Two shows in Bratislava and Bordeaux were cancelled earlier this year, with the star citing “technical issues” as the reason for pulling the gigs.

In February, Minaj became the first female rapper to sell 100 million units. That figure includes sales of her own albums and singles, as well as features she has made. It was revealed she was close to breaking the record in January.
