Fatboy Slim has announced details of an intimate gig in aid of the Save The Social campaign.
All proceeds from the show will go towards helping keep the long-running London venue open, as it faces a battle to raise £95,000 by the end of the month or face threat of closure, with developers planning to turn the space into a chain cocktail bar.
The DJ and producer, whose real name is Norman Cook, will play a tiny show at the beloved venue on Saturday (March 23). Tickets cost £25 and are available to buy here now.

The gig follows previous confirmation that Shame will play a special show at The Social this week (March 20). The south London band will play new songs at the gig and will be supported by Yak.
The team behind The Social have launched a crowdfunding campaign to help raise the money needed, with £75,621 of the target raised at the time of writing. The funds will be used as a downpayment to take the venue off the market, after which they will initiate a second round of private investment to take “full control” of the lease and secure the venue’s long-term future.

The venue was opened by Heavenly Records in 1999 and has welcomed the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, Beck, Jack White, Vampire Weekend, The Horrors, Lily Allen, Aphex Twin, and Super Furry Animals through its doors.
Speaking to NME, Robin Turner – one of the team behind The Social – said fans need to “give these venues some love now because they won’t be there forever and you’ll miss them when they’re gone. Going to gigs, buying a couple of pints and feeding frantic energy into venues…that’s what makes these places tick.”
