Alice Cooper says he is “spewing Johnny Depp’s venom” on Hollywood Vampires’ album

"I'm spewing Depp's venom."

Alice Cooper has said that he is “spewing the venom of Johnny Depp” on the next album from their band Hollywood Vampires.

Cooper, who performs in the rock supergroup with Joe Perry and Johnny Depp, said that he is channelling the anger of Johnny Depp – who is currently locked in a legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard.

“I’m spewing [Depp’s] venom on this album, which is kind of good,” Cooper told Billboard , while adding that the record “goes places I wouldn’t normally go, and that’s kind of what I like about it.”

This comes after Cooper previously hit out at domestic allegations levelled by Heard against Depp – which he describes as ““just bull”.

“All the stuff you heard last year about Johnny, 99 percent was just bull,” he went on. “I’ve never seen him look better in my life. I’ve never seen him happier. I’ve never heard him play better, and the way the press would have it is he’s a total destruction and ready to die. Totally not true.”

Earlier this month, it was reported that Depp sought $50 million from Heard allegedly defaming him with “hoax” claims of domestic abuse.

Speaking to NME last month, Cooper alleged that the media has spun a number of lies about Depp including substance abuse and a troubled financial status.

“Almost everything I read about Johnny Depp was absolutely untrue. You know, I’m touring with him and it says here in the paper: ‘Well, you [Depp] weigh 90 lbs and you’re a drug addict and you’re drinking and that you’re out of money’ and all this stuff,” he said.
