The Offspring have finished recording their long-awaited new album

Will the 'Days Go By' follow-up arrive this year?

The Offspring have completed work on their new album and could be set to release it this year, according to the band’s guitarist.

The California pop-punk outfit, whose hits include ‘Original Prankster’ and ‘Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)’, last released a record in 2012. ‘Days Go By’ was the group’s ninth studio effort and followed 2008’s ‘Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace’.

Now, in response to a fan on Instagram, the band’s axeman Noodles has confirmed that the long-awaited LP 10 is “done”.

Discussing the progress on new material last year in an interview with Music Feeds, Noodles said: “[We’ve worked] on and off on this record for five years, really. But we had a real productive string this year, in the earlier part of the year.

“We had probably five or six songs that we did just right then and it started to feel like maybe this is the direction we should be going with this record.”

He added that the upcoming release will contain “a little bit more straight-forward Offspring stuff.”
