Watch Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper perform ‘Shallow’ at 2019 Oscars

The stars of 'A Star Is Born' reunited for the special performance

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper reunited on stage at the 2019 Oscars to perform their A Star Is Born duet, ‘Shallow’.

The song is nominated for Best Original Song at the annual awards ceremony, which is taking place at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater tonight (February 24).

The pair took to the stage for a classic rendition of the track in comparison to Gaga’s rock reworking that aired at the Grammys earlier this month. Cooper sat on a stool for most of the performance before joining the pop star at her piano for the song’s final moments. You can watch footage of the performance below.

It’s not the first time the stars have performed the song off-screen. Cooper made a surprise appearance at one of Gaga’s Las Vegas residency dates last month (January 26), stunning fans in attendance with a performance of the track.

A Star Is Born was nominated for eight awards at this year’s Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actress for Gaga, Best Actor for Cooper, and Best Supporting Actor for Sam Elliott.

Earlier this month, Cooper revealed that he had officially retired the singing voice he used on A Star Is Born. “He’s gone, I’m not gonna try to get him back,” the actor said during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

He added that the surprise performance in Vegas had influenced the decision. “That guy certainly isn’t a rock star,” he said. “I watched the video back and I just sort of look like this idiot from Philadelphia singing with Lady Gaga… but I was like, ‘Oh, Jackson’s gone.’”

‘Shallow’ has already achieved awards success, picking up the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the Grammys on February 10.
