Ja Rule wants to host another “iconic” event despite failure of Fyre Festival

“In the midst of chaos is opportunity."

Ja Rule has revealed how he hopes to stage another “iconic” event, despite the catastrophic failure of Fyre Festival.

The rap mogul was heavily involved in the ill-fated 2017 event, which saw wealthy festival-goers becoming marooned in the Bahamas after a lack of basic provisions saw it descend into a living nightmare.

While the harsh reality of the event was laid bare in the recent Fyre documentary, Ja Rule insists that he’s up for staging another event.

“In the midst of chaos is opportunity. I’m working on a lot of new things, Rule told  TMZ when asked if he’d ever host another festival.

He subsequently called Fyre “the most iconic festival that never was,” before adding, “I have plans to create the iconic music festival.”

The seemingly unrepentant approach comes after he previously hit out at the Fyre Festival documentaries and accused the film’s viewers of unfairly shifting the blame onto him.
“I love how ppl watch a doc and think they have all the answers,” he tweeted.

In another post, Rule referred to ethical issues surrounding the movies – with jailed Fyre founder Billy McFarland being paid by Hulu to appear onscreen for their take on the festival.

“Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should’ve [gone] to the Bahamian ppl Netflix PAID fuck Jerry the same guys that did the promo for the festival… The docs clearly have Billy at fault but let’s blame the rapper lmao ok…,” he said.

Meanwhile, Fyre Festival staff recently received tens of thousands of pounds via a GoFundMe page after losing their life savings. Bahamian restaurant worker Maryann Rolle was left with an unpaid workforce after the festival collapsed in April 2017.<
