Watch Beck perform ‘Tarantula’ with Feist and Bat for Lashes

It's taken from the Roma soundtrack.

Beck debuted his new track ‘Tarantula’ on the Late Late Show last night, joined by a string of all-star backing singers that included the likes of Feist and Bat for Lashes.

The song is taken directly from the Roma soundtrack and last night’s performance saw Beck bringing its haunting qualities to life for the first time.

Taking to a dimly-lit stage, the live debut saw Beck’s performance being bolstered by Gustavo Dudamel & the LA Philharmonic Orchestra. But another unexpected gem came in the four backing singers who were quietly aiding the track from the back of the stage.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot the presence of Bat for Lashes’ Natasha Khan and Canadian folk hero Feist, who appears on the studio version of the track. They were joined by Alex Lilly and The Bird & the Bee’s Innara George.

Beck’s latest collaboration with Khan comes after the pair teamed up on 2014’s ‘Under The Indigo Sun’. That track followed on from ‘Let’s Get Lost’, their 2010 collaboration for the Twilight: Eclipse soundtrack.

Meanwhile, Roma is considered to be the frontrunner at the Oscars later this month. The film, which was released on Netflix in December 2018 , details the story of a young maid’s life in Mexico City in the early ‘70s. It stars Yalitza Aparicio as main character Sophia and was directed by Gravity filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón.
