Vampire Weekend announce first ‘Father Of The Bride’ tour dates

Ezra Koenig and co will return to the road in May

Vampire Weekend have announced a huge North American tour in support of their upcoming fourth album, ‘Father Of The Bride’.

The dates mark the band’s first tour since 2014, having played a handful of festivals and one-off shows last year.

The Ezra Koenig-led group will hit the road in May with an appearance at Gulf Shores’ Hangout Music Festival, before the tour proper starts in Toronto in June. It runs until October, when it concludes with a show at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and includes dates at LA’s Hollywood Bowl and New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Tickets go on sale next Friday (February 8) and can be purchased here.

Last week (January 24), Vampire Weekend released the first two tracks from the long-awaited ‘Father Of The Bride’ in ‘Harmony Hall’ and ‘2021’. ‘2021’ is a short and sweet electronica-driven number leaning on their more esoteric side, while ‘Harmony Hall’ sees the band back in full summer-pop mode but with a touch more cinematic splendour. Check out NME’s review of the songs here.

The band have also been confirmed for a number of European festivals this summer, including Gdynia’s Open’er Festival, Madrid’s Mad Cool, and Lisbon’s NOS Alive. UK dates are yet to be confirmed.
