“His ass is so fired!”: Dave Grohl left in hysterics as drunk guy hijacks Foo Fighters show

Dave Grohl sees the funny side as "Jay from Bombay" drinks his champagne and tries to climb Taylor Hawkins' drum riser.

A drunk fan hijacked a chaotic Foo Fighters show by jumping on stage and duetting with Dave Grohl, before trying to climb on to Taylor Hawkins’ drum riser.

The fan, who introduced himself as “Jay from Bombay”, left Grohl rolling on the floor laughing with his antics, after they performed an impromptu duet of The Faces’ classic ‘Stay With Me’.

The incident happened at Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Café, where the band were performing as part of Consumer Electronics Show. Jay invaded the stage and was welcomed on stage by Grohl, who described Jay’s dancing as “office party shit”.

Grohl and Jay then drank champagne and danced together, before the band launched into their spontaneous cover of ‘Stay With Me’. Jay, who had been laughing throughout the song, said at the end of it “Let’s do it again!”

Jay then tried climbing Hawkins’ drum riser, before he was finally removed by security. Referring to the show’s corporate nature, Grohl announced: “His ass is so fired. I don’t know who he works for. How the fuck are we going to top Jay from Bombay? It ain’t gonna happen.”

The show was the Foos’ first concert of 2019. Footage emerged last week of Grohl falling off stage at the gig, four years after he broke his leg falling off stage in Sweden which forced the band to cancel their headline show at Glastonbury where they were replaced by Florence + The Machine,

Foo Fighters, whose most recent album was 2017’s ‘Concrete And Gold’, return to the UK in August to headline Glasgow Summer Sessions, Vital Festival in Belfast and Reading And Leeds Festival. They also headline Dublin’s RDS Arena on August 21. Tickets for those shows can be bought here.
