Ryan Adams shares new song ‘Doylestown Girl’

Here's the first taster of three albums to come in 2019

Ryan Adams has unveiled his new song ‘Doylestown Girl’ – the first taster of his forthcoming album ‘Big Colors’.

Earlier this week, the alt-folk singer-songwriter revealed that he’d be following up his acclaimed 2017 album ‘Prisoner‘ with three records this year – before sharing the details and tracklist of the first two, ‘Big Colors’ and ‘Wednesdays‘.

Now, Adams has premiered the first song ‘Doylestown Girl’ on US radio station WXPN. Check out a radio rip below.

Named after a Pennsylvanian town in Buck County, the song paints the open-road Americana of his recent records with more bittersweetly romantic and summer-ready tones.

Produced by by Grammy-award-winning Latin producer Beatriz Artola and Don Was, ‘Big Colors’ will be released on April 19 with ‘Wednesdays’ and another record to follow later in the year.

“I wish everyone could witness the awe-inspiring sight of Ryan Adams recording in the studio… the endless flow of brilliant ideas is mind blowing and he’s clearly tapped into the deepest reaches of the Creative Ether,” said Was.

“His forthcoming album(s) elevate his art form to a whole new stratosphere and it’s an honor and a thrill for all of us at Blue Note Records to work with him. Oh yeah… one other thing: He’s the most underrated guitarist in rock’n’roll.”
