Liam Gallagher has explained how his voice has taken on a “healthier” sound after he cut down on booze and cigarettes.
The former Oasis frontman says that he’s been regulating his love of the two vices – and it now means that his voice is beginning to lack the gravelly tone that he was previously renowned for.
“I know for a fact when I have not had cigarettes and not drank and have been behaving myself I sound a bit square,” he explained to Sirius XM.
“And I do not like that. I like to sound a bit rough and have a bit of character.”
But while he’s seemingly cutting back on his hellraiser days, he’s not going fully straight-edge.
“I do behave myself a little, but not too much. I don’t want to sound like Aled Jones or Michael Bublé,” he joked.

Liam’s comments come after he previously described 20 years of drinking as “rubbish” and admitted that it had affected his performance at the band’s iconic Knebworth shows.
“At Knebworth I thought we were doing one night, and we were doing two,” he told NME in 2011.
Meanwhile, Liam is expected to return later this year with his second solo album – which he describes as “life-changing.”
After stating that he’s “still got it”, Gallagher has now elaborated on the progress of LP2 – saying that he has been working on 20 new tracks.
LG tweeted: “I know I talk a lot of shit but I have oops we have 20 songs that will change your lives oops make them better oops you know what I’m trying to say by the pinball lights x”.
He also previously teased fans by revealing that he had spent a week in L.A with “an army of songwriters“.
