Cardi B has reportedly said that she won’t perform at next year’s Super Bowl in a display of solidarity with exiled quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ star was demanding $6 million to perform ‘Girls Like You’ with headliners Maroon 5 at next year’s event,Page Six initially reported.
However, Rolling Stone now claims that although talks were held between Super Bowl bosses and Cardi’s management, it’s likely that she’ll snub any proposed performance in order to support Kaepernick.
“The rumour circulating that she wants a million dollars and she wants her own set is false,” a representative for the rapper said.
“There was never a firm offer to begin with for a performance. There [were] talks about it, but she was not particularly interested in participating because of how she feels about Colin Kaepernick and the whole movement.
“But again, there was never a solid offer for her to say yes or no to regarding the Super Bowl. She is already confirmed to do a set with Bruno Mars that weekend.”

She follows in the footsteps of Rihanna, who confirmed she had turned the gig earlier this year.
A subsequent petition for Maroon 5 to cancel the show was then signed by over 70,000 people, before it was claimed that they struggled to find any artists who would be willing to join them.
However, their performance could be provided a lifeline by Travis Scott. According to TMZ, the ‘Astroworld’ star could still perform at the event – joined by Outkast’s Big Boi.
