AIf there was one man that could make sad country disco A Thing, it’s Mark Ronson; and that’s exactly what he’s done with his Miley Cyrus featuring comeback ‘Nothing Breaks Like a Heart’. The first of many “sad bangers” to come from his next album, it’s a catchy slice of pop from the producer extraordinaire.
The tune comes with an accompanying video, which sees Miley Cyrus in a car chase with police officers; but also references gun violence (with scenes of children playing with bullets) and NFL “take a knee” protest against the national anthem. The intricate video is well worth a watch, and also jam packed with tons more references to the world we live in, and blink-and-you’ll-miss-them easter eggs. How many of the below did you manage to spot?
The asshole number plate
Throughout the video we see Miley driving a car, and if you flip the number plate upside down you’ll see it spells ‘ASSHOLE’. And Miley was sure to bring a bit of her home state with her, as although the music video was filmed in Ukraine, she’s got a Tennessee number plate.
if you look at miley’s car license plate it has 370H55V. and if you see this upside down it spells ASSHOLE

The Miley mask
In one scene we pass a crowd of Miley stans, and one appears to be carrying a mask of an old photo of the singer.

The Hannah Montana reference
Recommended
In a subtle throwback to her time on the Disney Channel, at one point we see the news reports reading “Miley’s wild ride”, could this be a reference to a fake newspaper report when she was in Hannah Montana?
It looks to me like @mileycyrus and @markronson may have been paying homage to Hannah Montana with 'Miley's Wild Ride'!!!#NothingBreaksLikeAHeart #NBLAH pic.twitter.com/OXHYjokSUF

She still comes in like a wrecking ball
The video nods to Miley’s legendary ‘Wrecking Ball’ visuals, with a small figure of her swinging on a wrecking ball appearing in the car.

And she references other previous eras of her career
As well as the reference to ‘Wrecking Ball’, we also see old pictures of Miley from the ‘23’ music video in the helicopter, and a picture of her graffiti-ed on a wall.
These visuals are EVERYTHING. I love how she referenced all her previous eras throughout the video. She's not afraid of who she used to be. #NothingBreaksLikeAHeart pic.twitter.com/3QtuXEicZY

Taking a knee
There are also shots of football players taking a knee, a reference to the U.S. National Anthem protests that have been happening an NFL games for the past few years.

The Britney reference
The clip which sees Miley flashing her behind as she clambers into the back of her car is a reference to an old video of fellow pop star Britney Spears.

That VMA performance
We also see a room of stuffed toys, which fans are theorising is a reference to Miley’s 2013 VMA performance.
