The ‘Bread’ EP will also feature appearances from Roc Marciano, the Roots’ Black Thought, and others, and is set for release on November 30. On the same day, Earl is due to release his third album, ‘Some Rap Songs’.

Earl’s latest return to action was first previewed earlier this month by the surprise release of the single ‘Nowhere2go’, sparking speculation that the long-awaited follow-up to his 2015 album ‘I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside’ was imminent.

In a statement, Earl confirmed that the album will address the recent death of his father, Keorapetse Kgositsile.

“Me and my dad had a relationship that’s not uncommon for people to have with their fathers, which is a non-perfect one,” Earl said. “Talking to him is symbolic and non-symbolic, but it’s literally closure for my childhood. Not getting to have that moment left me to figure out a lot with my damn self.”

Earl also previewed ‘Some Rap Songs’ with the release earlier this month (November 20) of the Navy Blue-featuring single ‘The Mint’.

Reviewing his last album, NME wrote: “The Odd Future member vents negativities on this lean, jazzy album…instead of high concepts or big choruses, Earl instead tunnels into his art, twisting his gloomy, hyperarticulate flow into ever more complex and tangled patterns.”

Earl gave his first live performance in some time last month during a star-studded memorial concert for Mac Miller, who passed away on September 7. The two rappers were close friends and collaborators.
