Metallica to release new album Helping Hands… Live & Acoustic At The Masonic

On November 3, Metallica hosted an auction which culminated with the band playing a rare acoustic set at The Masonic in San Francisco.

The event was organised in aid of their All Within My Hands Foundation and, following the frantic deals of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Metallica have commemorated #GivingTuesday by announcing they’ll release the performance on limited edition 140g coloured vinyl through independent record stores on February 1.

Proceeds will be donated to All Within My Hands, with the release spread over two discs and mixed by Greg Fidelman and mastered for vinyl by Reuben Cohen at Bernie Grundman Mastering.

The album will also be made available through digital and streaming platforms.

Metallica say: “Thanks to all of you and our generous sponsors, the very first fundraising concert and auction raised over $1.3 million!

“Those resources will be used to work with our partners at Feeding America and the American Association of Community Colleges. Thank you for your continued support and enjoy the holidays!”

Pre-orders are now under way on the Metallica store and on the band’s European store.
