Foals haven’t played live since they appeared at Parades De Coura festival in August 2017, with their most recent UK show coming when they headlined Citadel festival the previous month.

The band’s publishers Transgressive have confirmed a new album will be released next year, with the four-year gap since fourth album ‘What Went Down’ in 2015 being the longest of the Oxford band’s career.’What Went Down’ was produced by James Ford, known for his work with Arctic Monkeys. A producer for the group’s new album has not yet been announced.

Since completing touring for their last album, bassist Walter Gervers amicably left in January this year, with a replacement yet to be named.

Speaking to NME in October 2017, singer Yannis Philippakis said of their next album: “We’re in the marinating stage of thinking about getting onto the next record. We have a couple of bits written, but we’re in the very early stages. We’re in the conception stage – we’re not pregnant yet, we’re just trying to have the kid.”

You Me At Six recently released new album ‘VI’ and are currently on a headline tour, while Nothing But Thieves are also touring, in support of their current album ‘Broken Machine’.
