George Ezra brings the curtain down on UK tour with triumphant Wembley Arena show

There's no stopping Geoff....

George Ezra brought the curtain down on his UK tour last night with a triumphant sell-out show at London’s SSE Wembley Arena. Check out footage and the setlist below.

The show marked the biggest UK performance of Ezra’s career so far and saw him delivering an 80 minute set that flittered seamlessly between second album ‘Staying At Tamaras’ and his 2014 debut.

After opening with the defiant swagger of ‘Don’t Matter Now’, Ezra took a brief moment to greet the crowd in the time-honoured tradition of nearly every artist who gets the chance to headline the iconic London venue.

“Hello, Wembley!”, Ezra shouted to a crowd of almost 13,000 fans.

“That felt good”.

It set the upbeat tone for what was to follow, an evening of Ezra’s sun-soaked pop, occasionally littered with a more emotional side.

An early rendition of ‘Pretty Shining People’ prompted the first mass sing-along of the night, while First Aid Kit duet ‘Saviour’ saw him bringing a moody edge to proceedings.

Meanwhile, the emotional side of Ezra later emerged with the tender strains of  recent single ‘Hold My Girl’ being followed by the dreaminess of ‘All My Love’.

Ultimately though, the evening was a celebration of Ezra’s career so far -which inevitably meant that it was ‘Shotgun’ that received the reaction of the night.

Closing the show with the Number One hit, a ticker tape cannon went far in bringing a distinct festival feel to a cold Thursday night in North London.

All considered, it was the perfect audition for bigger rooms. Those bigger rooms will come next year with an arena tour that takes in two dates at The O2 Arena. At the moment it seems like there’s no stopping Geoff.
