A Muse fan has created their own parody of the rock giants, but it sounds surprisingly like the real thing.
The track is called ‘Orwellian Rebellion’ and was posted on the HotChocolateParty YouTube channel.
Although a parody, it comes complete with a pretty accurate take on all the tropes of a classic Muse song. After opening with a piano solo that wouldn’t sound out of place on ‘Origins of Symmetry’, we’re treated to a restrained vocal that eventually gives way for a full-blown Matt Bellamy style wail.
The lyrics have also nailed Muse’s constant distrust in global authority, even if the whole thing is entirely tongue in cheek.
“Rest or protest, the invisible hand aims to desensitise. A mandatory mention of drones”, he sings on the track.
As the song progresses, we see references to the “surveillance state”, before an inevitable use of a loudspeaker comes late on.

Visually, the whole thing is extremely Muse too. There’s the constant presence of a man who shreds an intense guitar solo. He just so happens to be wearing he kind of oversized glasses that Matt Bellamy loves too.
The same channel has also shared parodies of Death Cab for Cutie and Queen of The Stone Age, which are similarly close to the mark too.
Meanwhile, Muse released their eighth album ‘Simulation Theory’ last week. In a four star review, NME described it as “a retreat from the real world and into a ‘Tron’-style pastiche of their own adolescence.”
