Spice Girls extend UK stadium tour following ‘phenomenal’ rush for tickets

Mel C said she was "overwhelmed with the response" from fans

Spice Girls have extended their 2019 UK stadium tour, with a further four shows added to the schedule. See the full list of dates below.

Announcing their return on Twitter last week (November 5), the group shared a video that saw Geri Horner, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Mel C delivering a mock news bulletin. As previously reported, it was confirmed that Victoria Beckham won’t be joining the group on the tour.

Tickets for the concerts went on sale this morning (November 10). Many fans were left frustrated in their attempts to purchase them – with site crashes, error messages, and long queues being reported online.

Due to the ‘phenomenal’ demand, four shows were added to the stint – with two extra dates scheduled in both Manchester and London.

Spice Girls’ first comeback interview will air tonight on ITV’s Jonathan Ross Show. During the recording on Wednesday, the band revealed that they didn’t actually ask Victoria Beckham to join them on the road.

The iconic girl power group initially split in 2000 after Geri Halliwell left the group. They reunited for a massive comeback tour in 2007 and 2008, before their final performance at the Olympics Closing Ceremony in 2012.

Back in February, all five members of the iconic girl group were considering reunion plans, saying that “the time feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together”.

All five members of the girl group met up to reportedly discuss reuniting for the first time since 2012. The band are believed to have talked about working on a series of upcoming projects, including TV shows, endorsements, and a greatest hits compilation.

Emma Bunton shared a snap of all five of them together, captioning it “the future is looking spicy!”
