Alice In Chains announce 2019 UK arena shows

The grunge icons are back...

Alice In Chains have announced their return to the UK next year for two shows.

The grunge icons will play the Resorts World Arena Birmingham on May 24, before heading to Wembley’s SSE Arena on May 25. They’ll be joined by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Tickets go on general sale at 9am on Friday November 9 and will be available here.

The two UK shows come after the Seattle band returned with ‘Rainier Fog‘, their sixth studio album which was released in August.

In a four star review, NME hailed the record as a “triumph”.

“Like the two preceding records to feature DuVall, it’s impossible not to respect Alice In Chain’s continued presence and consistent output”, our official verdict stated.

“They’re a reminder that life must go on. More crucially however, ‘Rainier Fog’ is a timely reminder that life must be cherished and enjoyed too.”

Speaking to NME earlier this year, singer William DuVall discussed the passing of Chris Cornell and the band’s decision to mark the one-year anniversary of his passing by covering Soundgarden’s ‘Hunted Down’ and ‘Boot Camp’.

“That was a very moving and poignant experience,” said DuVall. “We didn’t say much about it beforehand, and we didn’t say much about it afterward, because we thought the music said enough. I wanted to do ‘Boot Camp’, because that was my favourite song on [Soundgarden’s 1996 album] ‘Down On The Upside’, so I went and learned it, but the thing with Chris is, he would tune the guitar to his voice, so it’s kinda complicated to learn from following YouTube!
