Ed Sheeran made an eye-watering £75,000 a day in 2017, it has been revealed.
The huge sum means that the 27-year-old singer is now considered to be the richest solo artist in the world, beating the likes of Adele and Taylor Swift.
Recently released accounts show that his company Ed Sheeran Ltd had a turnover of £36,293,611 with a graft profit of £27,376,900. It equates to £75,005 a day.
They also reveal that the star payed more tax than corporate giants Amazon and Starbucks – despite the companies making £162m and £2 billion respectively in the UK.
The figures show that the singer paid £5.29 million tax, in contrast to the £4.5 million payed by Amazon and £3.3 million paid by Starbucks.
Although Starbucks pays more tax through separate subsidiaries, a spokesperson told the I: “Starbucks paid £13.7m in tax in the UK in 2017 at an effective rate of 25.3%”.

Sheeran recently revealed that he’s planning to follow up ‘Divide’ with music that takes him back to his experimental roots.
Before finding global fame, the ‘Shape of You’ singer released 2011’s ‘EP No. 5 Collaborations Project’ which featured collaborations with the likes of Wiley, Devlin, JMEand Sway.
“I would love to do something like that again”, he told the BBC.
He also described the EP as “the most interesting project I think I’ve ever made”.
