Korn singer Jonathan Davis’ wife Deven died from accidental drug overdose

She had previously battled mental illness and addiction

The wife of Korn singer Jonathan Davis died from an accidental drug overdose, it has been confirmed.

Dven Davis died in August at the age of 39, on the same day that the singer had sought a restraining order against her.

Legal documents acquired by TMZ now reveal that Deven’s death has been confirmed as an accidental suicide.

An autopsy reportedly revealed that Deven had a combination of cocaine, heroin, fluoxetine (an antidepressant), topirimate (nerve pain medication) and clonezepam (used to treat anxiety) in her system after her death.

The singer previously admitted that his wife had battled addiction as he paid tribute to her in an emotional Instagram post.

“Over the past decade, my wife has been very, very sick. She had a very serious mental illness and her addiction was a side effect. I loved her with ALL of my being. When she was her true self, she was an amazing wife, amazing mother and amazing friend”, he wrote.

“Deven had a huge heart, and she would never intentionally hurt her children or anyone that she loved. She was an incredibly nurturing, giving, loving and hilarious person. She was full of life and joy, and would do anything to share that with those around her.”

Davis returned to stage with Korn for his first emotional performance since her death last month.

As KoRn performed at The Masonic in San Francisco for their first show since her passing as part of their ‘Follow The Leader’ 20th anniversary tour, Jonathan broke down in tears several times – often pausing to embrace his bandmates as the crowd cheered in support for the singer.

He filed for divorce from Deven in 2016, 12 years after they got married. The pair had two sons together.
