Slipknot put out mysterious casting call for a new music video

Looks like the band are celebrating their 20th anniversary

Slipknot have called upon fans to appear in a mysterious new music video – leading to speculation that the band are planning to tour or re-release their debut album to celebrate its upcoming anniversary.

The masked metallers sent out a message with the subject “Slipknot 20th Anniversary” – presumably linking ahead to the upcoming milestone of the band’s seminal 1999 self-titled album. To participate, fans are asked to e-mail their name and age to slipknot20th@gmail.com. If you’re under 18, identification and signed consent from a parent or guardian is required.

This comes after the band recently announced they will also be re-releasing ‘All Hope Is Gone’ to celebrate the album’s 10th anniversary.

“I’m in a band and I can’t stand that,” said percussionist Shawn ‘Clown Crahan’. “But now, I’m like, ‘Wow.’ For instance, I’m working for ‘All Hope Is Gone’, and what I’m doing is I’m using the stuff I would’ve never approved.

“Now I can look at it and go, ‘Wow. The fans need to see this.’”

During the recording of ‘All Hope Is Gone’, various band members also recorded additional songs, known by some as the Studio B recordings, that never made it onto the final mix. From what Clown is saying, those recordings might finally be heard.

Meanwhile, Slipknot are currently at work on their upcoming sixth album – due for release next year.
