Machine Gun Kelly claims he apologised to Eminem six years ago

Kelly reportedly made a comment about Eminem's daughter, Hailie Scott

Machine Gun Kelly claims he apologised to Eminem six years ago over the alleged comments he made about Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Scott.

The rappers have been engaging in a very public feud over the past few weeks after the release of Eminem’s new album ‘Kamikaze’. On one track – ‘Not Alike’ – Eminem tears into Kelly with lyrics like “If you wanna come at me with a sub, Machine Gun / And I’m talkin’ to you, but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly / I don’t use sublims and sure as fuck don’t sneak-diss / But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie.”

The song reignited a tension between the two which dates back to 2012 over reported comments Kelly made about the 45-year-old’s daughter on social media.

“Ok so I just saw a picture of Eminem’s daughter… and I have to say, she is hot as f—, in the most respectful way possible cuz Em is king,” Kelly reportedly tweeted in 2012.

Now, in a new interview with The Breakfast Club, Kelly claims the pair sorted out their issues years ago. “Truth be told, we had handled it behind the scenes six years ago,” Kelly claimed, adding that while he didn’t speak to Eminem directly, he did speak with the rapper’s manager and agreed to take the tweet down.

However, when asked about the specifics of the tweet, the rapper simply replied, “You know what I said.”

Scott was underage at the time of the tweet and Kelly claims that he “didn’t know how old she was” and was only reacting to a headline about “this person that we had known through records is all grown up.”

“I didn’t feel like it was disrespectful, but I’m a father, I have a nine-year-old daughter, I get it 100 percent,” he continued. Watch the interview below.

Some fans and observers of the ongoing beef between the two rappers are beginning to speculate about whether the dispute is actually being staged.

Their theories range from the fact that the two artists are signed to the same label (Interscope), to a screenshot of Kelly’s SoundCloud page which apparently shows that ‘Rap Devil’ was first uploaded online six months ago – and was only taken off ‘private’ on September 8.
