Donald Glover – aka Childish Gambino – is suing his former label Glassnote Records over a royalties dispute.

Glover claims that the record label owe him $10,000 in streaming royalties, alleging that they have miscalculated payments in breach of their licensing agreement. The suit also alleges breaches of contract, good faith, fair dealing, fiduciary duty and negligence.
The suit follows a complaint filed by Glassnote Records earlier this summer (July 6). In it, they requested that a judge mediate their contract dispute in court. “Donald Glover made a claim that he was owed 95% of SoundExchange royalties when we are legislatively and contractually required to share those royalties 50/45,” Glassnote said.
“We are not asking for anything back from Donald Glover, just that we are able to retain the monies that are contractually and legally ours and that have already been paid to us.”
Glover denies these claims, alleging that the label have kept all of his net SoundExchange royalties. His new suit is seeking dismissal of the original Glassnote complaint, as well as his owed royalties, plus damages. Glassnote are yet to respond.

He kicked off his world tour at Atlanta’s Infinite Energy Arena earlier this month (September 6).
In video footage posted on Reddit, Donald Glover told the crowd: “If you’re at this show know that it’s the last Gambino tour ever. This is not a concert. This is fucking church.”
Although it may be his last tour as Gambino, he may go under a different name in the future.
He previously hinted at a retirement of his current moniker in January when he said that the next record he puts out under that name will be his last.
