Eminem admits he “went too far” after using homophobic slur against Tyler, The Creator

"I realize that I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it"

Eminem has admitted that he went “too far” after facing widespread criticism for calling Tyler, The Creator a “faggot”.

The rapper hit out at the Odd Future leader on ‘Kamikaze’ track ‘Fall’.

On the track, which was released last month, Eminem raps: “Tyler create nothin’, I see why you called yourself a f****t, bitch”.

Now, he’s expressed regret for using the homophobic slur. Speaking in the latest instalment of his interview with Sway, he admitted: ““I think the word that I called him on that song was one of the things where I felt like this might be too far.

“Because in my quest to hurt him, I realize that I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it. … It was one of the things that I kept going back to and going ‘I don’t feel right with this.’”

Describing his reasons for the controversial diss, Eminem admitted that he was first angered by Tyler’s disparaging tweets about 2014’s ‘Shady XV’.

He was also annoyed by Tyler’s claim that “if you still follow Eminem, you drink way too much Mountain Dew.”

“I was like, really? What the fuck,” Eminem explained.

“You guys were just on tour with us, we hung out, we kicked it, made jokes.”

Elsewhere in the chat, he confirmed that he was visited by the secret service after continued criticism of Donald Trump.

“They came to my studio, yeah,” he admitted.

“They were basically just asking questions about my lyrics to see what the intent was behind them and if I was making an actual threat or just expressing myself.”

Yesterday, the second instalment of Eminem’s chat with Sway saw him admitting the reasons for beginning a messy feud with Machine Gun Kelly.
