Paramore release wacky new video for ‘Caught in the Middle’, announce one-off concert event

The video is their fifth to be taken from their recent album 'After Laughter'

Paramore have released a new video for ‘Caught in the Middle’ – the fifth single taken from last year’s ‘After Laughter’ album.

It was directed by Computer Team, who have previously worked with the band on their other ‘After Laughter’ videos.

The visual sees the three-piece running around various animated scenes, evading giant fruit while also playing illustrated instruments. You can watch it below.

The band have also announced a special on-off concert event in their hometown of Nashville. It’s set to celebrate Nashville’s music scene, with a headline performance from Paramore as well as sets from Bully, COIN, Canon Blue, Liza Ann and Nightingail.

“We want to celebrate our hometown and the fast growing, wacky and wonderful alternative music and arts community of Nashville,” frontwoman Hayley William said of the event. “We want to show you what our fine city has to offer, outside of bachelorette parties and karaoke bars…Take it from a group of kids who grew up right here in this city – the new Nashville is definitely alright with us. We’re excited to give everyone a chance to experience Nashville the way we do.”

Titled ‘Paramore Art + Friends’, the event take place on Friday 7 September at Nashville Municipal Auditorium and you can grab tickets from 12 noon Central Time (6pm UK time). You can grab those and see more info about the concert here.

Last week, Williams opened up about her mental health, writing that she was tired of people “treating mental health as an either/or situation.”

“*sheeesh, ppl love to talk shit when you finally getting to a good spot.* learning this now: being unhealthy may garner some empathy from previous apathetic onlookers… but nothing beats getting consciously healthy w/ true love around you. misery’s romance will never compare,” she wrote in a tweet.

“AND 1 MORE THING — gettttttting healthy is a lifetime of process,” she added. “kinda tired of folks treating mental health as an either/or situation. sometimes you’re just in the grey for a while, making your way to the light. (pls don’t shit on someone else’s journey to a less-dark place).”
