Bobby Brown hits out at Kanye West over Pusha T’s Whitney Houston album cover

West is also set to host a listening party for his new album today (May 31)

Bobby Brown has hit out at Kanye West for using a photograph of Whitney Houston’s bathroom for Pusha-T’s album artwork for ‘Daytona’.

The singer was married to Houston from 1992 to 2007. It was originally published by the National Enquirer – six years before Whitney’s death from accidental drowning aged 48.

West apparently paid $85,000 for the image – which was taken by Whitney’s sister-in-law Tina Brown in 2006 – which shows the room featuring a number of drugs. You can view the album cover below.

”Why would he post that on his album cover? That’s really disgusting that he would do that,” Brown told Rolling Stone.

”That’s in really bad taste. Something should happen to Kanye. He’s already crazy. I knew that when I first met him. Now he’s pushing the bar a little bit. He needs somebody to slap him up or something. And I’m just the person to do it.”

Pusha-T previously said that the Daytona cover was originally going to be a different image. But West, who executive produced the album, made a late decision to change the artwork to the picture of Houston’s bathroom and shared the cover image on Twitter.

Houston’s estate also recently issued a statement saying it was “extremely disappointed in Kanye’s choice” for the album artwork.

“Even in Whitney’s death, we see that no one is exempt from the harsh realities of the world,” Houston’s estate added.

Yesterday (May 30), West revealed that he’s hosting a listening party for his new album today (May 31) in Wyoming.
