T.I. responds to being “wrongfully arrested” after attempting to gain entry to his own gated community

A security guard at the gated community in Georgia reportedly refused to let the rapper in after he failed to present his key

T.I. has responded to what he has described as his “wrongful arrest” after he was apprehended by police following a heated exchange with a security guard at his gated community in Henry County, Georgia.

Reports claim that the rapper was arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning (May 16) after he got into an altercation with the security guard following the former’s failure to present his key.

TMZ reports that T.I. then called his wife, Tiny Harris, in an attempt to diffuse the heated situation with the guard. This move, however, reportedly agitated the guard, who allegedly yelled at Harris “who the fuck do you think you is [sic] talking to me like this?”

Police were eventually called to the scene. But, after the guard allegedly refused to either give his name or admit that he was initially asleep at his post when T.I. arrived, the rapper was arrested.

T.I.’s side of events has been laid bare in a statement released by his lawyer Steve Sadow yesterday, which alleges that the rapper was “wrongfully arrested” and that the police “were not interested in hearing Tip’s side of the story” when they arrived at the scene.
