Katy Perry sent Taylor Swift a literal olive branch to “clear the air” over beef

The Swift/Perry beef looks like it's over

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift appear to have ended their long-running beef, with Perry literally sending Swift an olive branch to “clear the air”.

The pair had long been known to hold ill feelings towards one another, with Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ believed to be penned about Perry.

Last year, Perry accused Swift of using their respective fan groups to stir things up, telling NME: “I’m not Buddha – things irritate me. I wish that I could turn the other cheek every single time, but I’m also not a pushover, you know? Especially when someone tries to assassinate my character with little girls. That’s so messed up!”

However, on Tuesday (May 8), Swift took to Instagram to share a video of a gift and handwritten note she received from Perry to mark her ‘Reputation’ tour opener in Glendale, Arizona.

“So I just got to my dressing room and I found this actual olive branch,” Swift said in the clip. “This means so much to me,” adding “Thank you Katy” in a caption.

Fans have attempted to decipher the snippet of the note from Perry, with many believing it reads: “Hello old friend— I’ve been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and hard feelings between us. I really want to clear the air – I’m deeply sorry for…”

Swift also liked a Tumblr post from a fan, which explained the symbolism of the olive branch. The biblical symbol is often regarded as an offer of reconciliation.

The bookies have now given odds of 2/1 for a Swift/Perry duet to arrive before the end of 2018.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Never in our wildest dreams did we expect Taylor and Katy to kiss and make up, but the new pop star pals are now dark horses for a chart-topping duet.”
