Eminem hits out at mumble rap on his new Royce da 5’9″ collaboration ‘Caterpillar’.

‘Caterpillar’ is lifted off Detroit rapper Royce da 5’9″‘s new album ‘Book of Ryan’, out tomorrow (May 4).

On the track, which also features King Green and samples Gil Scott-Heron, Eminem raps: “The boom bap is coming back with an ax to mumble rap”.

Elsewhere, he delivers the lines: “Stampin’ out grasshoppers, you can’t be no Rap Gods / In fact you’re exact opposites / You make a wack song, and can’t hold a candle”.

Mumble rap was recently the target of new J Cole song ‘1985’, with the rapper appearing to diss the likes of Lil Pump.

Eminem recently celebrated 10 years of sobriety. The star has been sober since 2008, following years of prescription drug addiction.

Late last month, the rapper uploaded a pic to social media of his sobriety coin – something that’s rewarded to Alcoholics Anonymous and other 12 step programme users after key points in their recovery – with the caption: ‘Celebrated my 10 years yesterday’.

Eminem recently played a stellar hit-packed headline show at Coachella 2018 – featuring the likes of Dr DreSkylar Grey50 Cent and more.

He also brought a pop-up of ‘Mom’s Spaghetti’ to the festival, after opening a restaurant inspired by the lyrics to his hit ‘Lose Yourself’ in Detroit last year.
