Johnny Borrell drops new solo track ‘My World, Your Life’ as Razorlight announce first new album in 10 years

Johnny Borrell has unveiled his new solo single ‘My World, Your Life’, while confirming that Razorlight are also set to drop their first album in ten years.

Taken from a new solo album set for release later this year, the tropical-tinged burst of danceable summer rock will be released as a 7″ single on Friday May 4 via Gearbox Records.

Taking in West African, South American, Celtic, Basque and British influences, the sound is what Borrell calls “Atlantic music, influenced by both Atlantic coasts”. Hear it first on NME below.

A spokesman also confirmed that there’s a few more surprises in store from Borrell in 2018.

“With his next solo album exhibiting one facet of his musical curiosity Johnny is also due to compare and contrast, with a highly charged new Razorlight album later this year (their first in ten years),” they said. “Just to make sure there’s something for everyone.”

Razorlight’s last album was 2008’s ‘Slipway Fires’. Since then, the frontman has released the solo album ‘Borrell 1‘ in 2013, as well as ‘The Atlantic Culture’ with Zazou in 2016.

Details of Razorlight’s new album and tour dates are expected in the coming months.
