The Distillers play first gig in over 12 years – watch

Are you ready to be liberated?

This week saw The Distillers mark their comeback with a reunion show in San Diego. Check out footage and the setlist below.

Punk fans rejoiced when Brody Dalle confirmed the return of the band earlier this year. Having confirmed that their line-up would be the same as their formation during their last release ‘Coral Fang’ in 2003, the punk veterans this week performed their first show in over 12 years to kick off their leg of 2018 tour dates with a career-spanning gig at The Casbah.

Sharing a photo of a branded jacket on Instagram, Dalle wrote: “14 years later and the jacket still fits…it’s been an emotional rollercoaster to get here but I’m grateful for it all. I’m not afraid of a little old ride. Bring it. It was emotional tonight , me , us, you , the peeps on the street. I’m loving it and you. The Distillers feels so right. Thank you”

The band were at the forefront of the California punk scene at the turn of the century, releasing three acclaimed and highly influential albums between 2000 and 2003. They announced their split in 2006 following the departure of drummer Andy Granelli and bassist Ryan Sinn. Remaining members Dalle and Tony Bevilacqua then went on to form Spinerette, before Dalle later launched a successful solo career with the acclaimed album ‘Diploid Love‘.
