Robyn is in the studio with Metronomy’s Joe Mount

BANGERS ALERT: The popstar's long-awaited new record will drop this year

Robyn has posted clips of herself in the studio with Metronomy‘s Joe Mount.

Earlier this year, the ‘Dancing On Your Own’ popstar seemingly confirmed that her new album will finally drop in 2018.

When asked who is responsible for determining the record’s release date, she replied on Twitter: “I do. Some time this year honey”.

The long-awaited comeback album will follow 2010’s ‘Body Talk’. During the intervening years, the Swedish artist made a series of guest appearances on tracks by the likes of Todd Rundgren – along with releases of music as part of her La Bagatelle Magique project.

Now, Robyn has posted a number of behind-the-scenes videos of herself making music in the studio. As pointed out by Line of Best Fit, Metronomy’s Joe Mount is seen working on the material along with producer Klas Ahlund. It’s noted that recording could be taking place at London’s Strongroom Studio, where Björk, M.I.A and FKA Twigs have also worked.

It was reported that the singer was working with Mount on her new record back in 2016. That same year, Robyn featured on Metronomy’s single ‘Hang Me Out To Dry’ from their album ‘Summer 08’.

In 2017,  Mount also said he was hoping to work on the ‘Body Talk’ follow-up.

“I’ve been working with people on my own stuff, some new stuff, and I’m off to see Robyn in March to try and do some stuff with her,” he told NME.

“I’ve just been a bit of family man recently…but every time I do something with Robyn I get very excited, so hopefully I’ll be heavily involved in her next record but we’ll see.”
