Waffle House shooting suspect ‘believed Taylor Swift was stalking him’

Travis Reinking reportedly claimed that the star hacked his phone and Netflix account

A man suspected of killing four people at a Waffle House restaurant in Nashville at the weekend once reportedly claimed that he was being stalked by Taylor Swift.

Police have named Travis Reinking, 29, from Illinois, as the suspect in the shooting, which took place in the early hours of Sunday (April 22) at a Waffle House branch in the Nashville suburb of Antioch.

According to reports, Reinking is said to have been nude at the time of the attack and is alleged to have opened fire with a semi-automatic rifle, before fleeing the scene on foot after a man wrestled the weapon away from him. Reinking is currently in police custody.

Before Reinking was caught, reports claimed that the individual – who is said to have a history of delusions – once told authorities that he believed singer Taylor Swift was stalking him.

Authorities in Tazewell County, Illinois held a press conference on Sunday afternoon to detail information they had on the suspect.

They said that Reinking told officers in May 2016 that he believed Swift was harassing him and had hacked his phone and Netflix account.

Reinking also claimed that Swift had told him to meet her at a Dairy Queen, where he says he chased her onto a rooftop before she vanished.

He claimed to have proof on his phone to back up his story, but refused to show it to authorities.

Tazewell County Sheriff Robert Huston said during the press conference: “There is evidence there is some mental health issues involved.”

Last week, it was reported that a stalker broke into Taylor Swift’s New York City townhouse and took a nap.
