Foo Fighters fan nails ‘Monkey Wrench’ guitar solo after being invited onstage by Dave Grohl

This is epic.

Brilliant video footage has captured the moment that a Foo Fighters fan nailed the guitar solo in ‘Monkey Wrench’, after he was invited onstage by the American rock giants.

Foos fan Yayo Sanchez was picked by Dave Grohl, after he held a sign that said ‘Monkey Wrench’ during a show in Austin, Texas, last week.

In the footage, Sanchez is seen accepting the invite, before Grohl unofficially christens him ‘KISS Guy’ – owing to his face paint.

But in a incredible turn of events, ‘KISS Guy’ succeeds where so many fans have failed – and delivers an absolutely belting rendition of Monkey Wrench.

The ultimate seal of approval even comes from Grohl himself, who watches on in awe at Sanchez’ performance and even forgets the words to the seminal track.

Meanwhile, another surprise Foo Fighters collaboration came about last year – when the group invited Rick Astley to perform ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival.

In a recent appearance on Kyle Meredith With…, Astley explained how the collaboration came about.

“It just all went nuts,” he said, explaining he had settled down backstage in preparation to watch Foo Fighters’ set. “Dave Grohl came over and said hello, gave me a hug, and then half an hour later he’s inviting me onto the stage.
