Mariah Carey is reportedly being sued by her former manager.
Stella Bulochnikov worked with the singer for three years, before they parted ways in November 2017.
Now, according to TMZ, Bulochnikov is claiming Carey still owes her a large amount of money. She is said to filed legal documents detailing her plans to sue the star for alleged violations of the US Civil Rights act, the Fair Employment and Housing Act, and breach of contract.
She has also accused Carey of sexual harassment, claiming she was often naked in front of her. She also claimed Carey has a substance abuse problem. Bulochnikov is reportedly seeking damages and interest in the lawsuit.
Speaking to Page Six, a representative for the singer said: “If this frivolous and baseless claim is filed, we will defend against it vigorously and successfully.”
When the manager and musician went their separate ways last year, they released a joint statement that said it was no longer “in their mutual best interest” to continue their partnership, but that they would “continue to support each other” in numerous endeavours. “During their time working together, they have accomplished great things, including most recently Mariah Carey’s new music and motion picture projects for this upcoming holiday season,” it read.
Carey recently spoke about her battle with bipolar for the first time last week. “Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me,” she said in an interview. She has since given fans an update, saying she feels “uplifted” and “inspired” since sharing her story.
