The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has found himself the subject of a new meme.
A photo of the singer – in which he looks rather glum while performing live – was recently circulated by fans on Twitter, each trying to guess what Flowers could be sorrowful about with the #SadBrandon hashtag.
“When you’re coming out of your cage and haven’t been doing fine at all,” one fan wrote, aping the lyrics to ‘Mr Brightside’.
“When you can’t smile like you mean it,” another tweeted – of course a reference to their similarly-titled 2004 hit.
The #SadBrandon meme follows in the recent footsteps of Sad Billy Corgan, Sad Skrillex and Sad Ben Affleck.

The Killers spoke to NME last year as they released their latest album ‘Wonderful Wonderful’. The band revealed that they went to counselling sessions before recording their LP.
“It was basically a communication session,” drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr explained. “We’re four dudes that don’t want to communicate, don’t know how to communicate, how to lay it out. We needed some lessons. I think it’s healthy. If you don’t clear the air there’s a lot of separation. Cracks start to feel like wedges then canyons, and then paranoia builds up and you misconstrue everything.”
“It cut through the bullshit,” Vannucci added. “On tour you don’t wanna rock the boat too much, and it taught that, instead of letting something go an entire six week tour, if something happens fucking deal with it right there.”
‘Wonderful Wonderful’ is the band’s sixth studio album and their first since 2012’s ‘Battle Born’.
