Troye Sivan has spoken out about working with Carly Rae Jepsen – and his dream of collaborating with Taylor Swift. Watch our video interview with Sivan above.
The singer and actor has recently been working on the follow-up to his 2015 debut album ‘Blue Neighbourhood’. Speaking to NME on the red carpet of the BRIT Awards 2018, Sivan revealed that the next record will take his music in a more mature but ‘lighter’ direction.
Asked about rumours that he’d been writing with Jepsen he replied: “There is truth in it, but we didn’t end up getting a song – we just hung out for the day and had a good time. There’s nothing coming it, but we’ve written together.
“Just good vibes, good friendship vibes.”
What about other potential dream collaborations?
“I’ve always said that I would like to write with Taylor Swift, so I can just geek out and see her process. She’s a really genius songwriter, and I’d love to see that.”

Speaking of progress on the album, he continued: “So, it’s almost done actually. It’s 95% done, I’m mixing it, and I’m so proud of this album. I feel like it’s the best thing I’ve ever made. I can’t wait to take it out on the road and tour it.
“I think my first single ‘My My My’ is a good indicator of where things are heading. There’s a ‘lightness’ to the album that wasn’t on the last one. People can expect to have a really good time to the album. It’s about love. I’m growing all the time and I write super-personally, I just feel like I’m really happy so it’s about that.”
