Oak Street brunch and live music favorite Live Oak Cafe (8141 Oak) is now reopen after a major remodeling effort kept the a.m. hotspot closed during an "extensive winter hiatus,"  Ian McNulty reports this week. Owners Clare Leavy and Helena Hjort, who worked at the cafe's previous incarnation as Oak Street Cafe, have now returned with their signature inexpensive and locally-sourced breakfast and lunch favorites, an "expanded dining room" and a crazy music line up during breakfast, lunch and brunch, thanks to music coordinator Jason Van Ness, who just booked the following act for this Sunday, April 26:

"A guy who is covered in tattoos with a handlebar moustache who dresses like a clown... He gets a tattoo live onstage while singing opera with the most beautiful string section behind him you've ever heard."
